WHAT IS T.A.S.T.E. ?
The Tallahassee Arts, Science, Theater Experience (T.A.S.T.E.) is an entirely donation-based, non-profit festival concept created by S.C.A.M.S. The second annual experience is set for March 11th-13th, 2027. T.A.S.T.E. is registered as an incorporated non-profit organization awaiting 501c3 status.
T.A.S.T.E.’s mission is to create a regional multi-day, citywide cultural festival in Tallahassee, FL. T.A.S.T.E. will attract and accommodate the local population while also including regional/national artists and educators on the lineup that make it an experience worth traveling for. The festival aims to highlight the people, communities, infrastructure, and resources that make Tallahassee special while also facilitating cultural exchange and growth throughout the region.
The primary goal for T.A.S.T.E. as a non-profit is to remain solely donation-based and use money raised from donations, sponsorships, and grants for the purpose of producing the festival. No money will be used to pay salaries within the organization or be used to cover any expenses other than that required to produce the festival.
Expenses for T>A>S>T>E> Include:
People (Artists, Crew, etc.)
Places (Venues, Hospitality, etc.)
Production (Sound, Lighting, Video, etc.)
Promotion (Posters, Merch, etc.)

When and Where Will T>A>S>T>E> Be?
T.A.S.T.E. plans to happen once a year in the month of March for the foreseeable future. It is starting in 2026 with 2 venues & 2.5 days. The goal is to get up to 5 days with as many venues as possible.
What Will T>A>S>T>E> NOT Be?
Expensive. Exclusionary. Evil.
No standard festival business practices like charging hundreds of dollars for a ticket, placing an audience in a designated area, and overcharging for things you buy on a regular basis. T.A.S.T.E. will be open on multiple levels.
No price-gouging vendors. Year 1 of T.A.S.T.E. is entirely free for people to vend at. As the festival grows, this is a potential revenue stream for T.A.S.T.E. to sustain itself. Many festivals charge $1,000+ to vend at - especially for food vendors. T.A.S.T.E. never wants to charge more than $200 for food vendors and $50 for artisans. This pricing concept is a ways out but we are stating our intentions now for transparency and accountability.
No “Event Parking” prices. Parking will be free or the same price as a lot or meter spot usually is in Tallahassee. As T.A.S.T.E. grows, we aim to provide free, safe, and sustainable transportation for those who need it.
What WILL T>A>S>T>E> Be?
This is an evolving answer. T.A.S.T.E. will have a general theme for each year that will apply to the overall look of the experience. This will be most noticeable in the featured artists creating new works at T.A.S.T.E., which will inspire the design for the promotional materials. This year’s theme is “Proof of Concept,” hence the neutral black and white aesthetic - this is the blank canvas and we are just starting to draw the lines.
This year’s featured artist creating new work during T.A.S.T.E. was Alex Laubach - a native Tallahassee artist that frequently uses automatism with black pen when crafting their pieces.
T.A.S.T.E. will be a continuous journey circling around the primary destination of Tallahassee, FL. We are very excited to embark on it with the community.
